Who else has the worst skin in winter? Mine is always awfully dry and broken out and just bad bad bad! After a few weeks dealing with it I decided I needed to do something about it and re-invent my winter skin! I have struggled with breakouts, dry skin, oily skin, red skin you name it but, I’ve been using this routine for about two months now and it has seriously worked wonders! My skin is softer than ever with extremely minimal breakouts and my complexion looks amazing!
Here is my step-by-step routine (with a few tips and tricks):
Step 1: REMOVE MAKEUP- I cannot stress enough how important this is! Makeup builds up on your skin and clogs pores and will cause redness and breakouts, before showering I use the Simple water based micellar water to remove my makeup. I apply some on a cotton pad and gently wipe away all makeup and impurities.
Step 2: WASH YOUR FACE- This step is just as important as taking off your makeup because its like a double defense, sometimes makeup remover doesn’t do the job so I always wash my face after to make sure all of my makeup is off!
Step 3: TONER- toner is amazing because it really helps exfoliate dead skin cells which can clog your pores and cause breakouts! (no thank you!) Toner can also help with the texture of your skin and the complexion.
Step 4: SERUM- serums are my favorite product ever! I love using a serum because they have so many healing properties (depending on which one you use) and they also can minimalize breakouts and moisturize your skin!
Step 5: MOUSTURIZE- during the winter months (and all months) mousturizing is the KEY to having a good glowy complexion make sure your moisturizer is not greasy as these don’t tend to work as well!
I definitely recommend this regimen for those who struggle with acne during both winter and summer months! Its amazing and has helped my skin so much! A little pricey but not to bad compared to other brands! This regimen is also all natural without any harsh chemicals that could potentially burn or irritate your skin! All plant and herb based and works extremely well! A winter/ all year must have!
Step 6: SPF- This could probably the most important step because protecting your skin from the sun is so important! Even in the winter you can still get sunburnt! I use a spf moisturizer everyday after my regular one and before makeup just to be safe and protect my skin!
Step 7: EYE CREAM- I always use a eye cream even though I’m not prone to dark circles I’m weird and just like using it lol. This one is from cvs it does the job and keeps my under eyes hydrated.
